چکیده
Abstract The present study investigates the maximum temperature and smoke back-layering length S in downhill direction from fire source a tilted tunnel under natural ventilation. Numerical simulations were conducted using FDS to flow behaviors for with nine slopes of 0, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7% 8%. It was found that, due stack effect, stagnated at distance direction. effects slope, ? , heat release rate, Q source-ceiling height H width W on studied. Results showed that ceiling decreased increasing slope or decreasing width. However, it increased rate height. A model proposed rise. slope. Fire had no significant effect length. And Based dimensional analysis, simple including both H, predict

متن کاملa study on rate making and required reserves determination in reinsurance market: a simulation
reinsurance is widely recognized as an important instrument in the capital management of an insurance company as well as its risk management tool. this thesis is intended to determine premium rates for different types of reinsurance policies. also, given the fact that the reinsurance coverage of every company depends upon its reserves, so different types of reserves and the method of their calc...
Coupling Simulation on Subway Tunnel Smoke Propagation
Subway is consisted of tunnels, platforms and ventilation shafts. The air flow between these structures forms a ventilation network. There is a need for fire modeling tools capable of both rapid and precise simulation for fire and smoke propagation in such ventilation network. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is widely used in subway fire performance design. However, the boundary conditions u...
متن کاملSimulation of Temperature Distribution in a Continuous Tunnel Reheat Furnace Using the Monte Carlo Method
A mathematical model of a continuous reheating furnace has been developed to identify the design and operating parameters that significantly affect furnace performance. In this study, the furnace is modeled 3 dimensionally and theMonte Carlomethod is used to find the overall absorption factor. The overall absorption factor is then used to calculate the energy balance for furnace walls, the gas,...
متن کاملThe critical ventilation velocity in tunnel fires—a computer simulation
In ventilated tunnel fires, smoke and hot combustion products may form a layer near the ceiling and flow in the direction opposite to the ventilation stream. The existence of this reverse stratified flow has an important bearing on fire fighting and evacuation of underground mine roadways, tunnels and building corridors. In the present study, conducted by the National Institute for Occupational...
